Aiko Saitō (斉藤 愛子, Saitō Aiko) is Takeru's elementary school teacher and Nagisa's older sister who is jealous of Squid Girl's popularity with her students, as she was once popular with them before she came into view.
Appearance[]
Aiko is a young woman that has brown eyes and brown neck-length hair. She is usually seen wearing a sea green shirt, and a knee length gray skirt, she wears dark gray slip ons.
Personality[]
Aiko is shown to be very kind towards her students, and was very well respected. But if someone wedges their way into her student's respect she becomes very jealous.
Aiko's jealousy also leads her to mishaps such as drinking too much alcohol at once (in full view of some of her students) and forgetting to warm up before diving into a pool.
Relationships[]
Ika Musume - Aiko is extremely jealous of Ika. Unlike her sister, she seems to want Ika to see Ika fail at invading. However, when her students said that they would like her better if she got along with Ika, and she said they were friends.
Nagisa Saitō - Nagisa is Aiko's little sister. She seems to love her dearly, and appreciates the favors she does. Both also view Ika as an enemy, but for different reasons.
Takeru Aizawa - Takeru is one of Aiko's students. He states that she is very nice.
Trivia[]
- Aiko made her debut in the manga before Nagisa, although with a completely different appearance, which was acknowledged by Masahiro Anbe in the afterword to Volume 10.
