The Three Stooges (3バカトリオ, San Baka Torio) are Cindy Campbell's fellow researchers who studied at MIT and work in a secret laboratory on the beach with her.

They got their name due to the inventions they create that either end up exploding, or otherwise causing collateral damage.

Their names are as follows

  • Harris (ハリス Harisu) - Black Haired
  • Clark (クラーク Kurāku) - Silver haired
  • Martin (マーティン Mātin) - Brown haired

Role in Plot[]

The Three Stooges, as they are known by the rest of the characters, usually come up with ridiculous ideas to the situation at hand when not pursuing Squid Girl. Whether it's a shrink ray, a micro fly, an invisible suit, or even an automated beach house, they usually cause trouble in a desperate bid to catch or study her.

These products came from Clark, who is the development specialist. He manufactures their gadgets.

Personality[]

Each scientist has his own personality. They seldom see the sun, especially Clark. They also seem to take rules and guidelines seriously, as they are usually seen walking down the beach in their lab coats.

Clark seems to be the most photosensitive, disliking the summer heat more than his colleagues.

  • Robot Cat (Chapter 113)

Trivia[]

  • Despite the fact that they work for Cindy, they don't consider her a friend[1].
  • They built a "better" version of the Nintendo DS which they asked Eiko and Squid Girl to test - to hilarious results[2].
  • Despite their obvious difference in appearance, Ika Musume assumed they are biological brothers. However this is false, as it is revealed that Harris is the middle child and that he has an older brother and a younger sister, while Clark has one younger brother, and Martin has no siblings.[3].
  • There are inconsistencies with their levels of expertise between the anime and the manga:
    • In the anime, each is genius inventor, as shown when each tried to obtain a sample of Chizuru's DNA.
    • In the manga, it is revealed that Clark is the only genius inventor of the bunch; the others' roles are limited to guinea pigs.
  • When Squid Girl returned to the ocean at the end of Season 1, they all became depressed. Martin got skinny, and Clark and Harris got fat. When she returned, their respective sizes returned to normal.
